This piece is a parody of a radio programm and a parody of a contemporary piece at the same time.
Arturo Corrales is using collage in this piece (from ligeti to mambo passing through heavy metal and Pucini) and topics of radio speakers (footbalmatch speaker ) to kill the idea of the « scaring »contemporary music in a kind of « minidada-opera »
Arturo Corrales (1973) started from his childhood music and paintind. He acquires a degree in architecture as well as a fisrt music formation in his home town, el Salvador.
He concludes his studies in Geneva and Lugano : composition with Eric Gaudibert, Nicolas Bolens, Michael Jarrell, Nadir Vassena ; electroacoustics with Rainer Boesch, Luis Naon, Eric Daubresse ; orchestral conducting with Giorgio Bernasconi.
Master classes with Philippe Hurel, Georges Aperghis, Salvatore Sciarrino, Ivan Fedele, Helmut Lachenmann, Yann Maresch, Toshio Hosokawa, Gérard Pesson, Klaus Huber, Stefano Gervasoni. Collaborations in performance and theater with Yann Marussich, Théâtre du Grütli, Andrea Novikov, Luisa Campanile, CPMDT, Cristina Fabiani, Chrsitophe Bergon.
Price Edmund Pendleton 2004, he is invited by European festivals such as Archipel (Geneva) in Switzerland, Acanthes (Metz) and Aujourd’hui Musiques (Perpignan) in France, Nous Sons (Barcelona) and Injuve in Spain ; and is played in Europe, America and in Asia.
Co-founder of the Ensemble Vortex in Geneva, and Master of musicology in Paris VIII with the composer Horacio Vaggione.
Of determinedly experimental conception, its work of creation is often inspired by ethnic and popular domains. Constantly attentive to the formal coherence of his works, to the control of their projection in space and time, he wants to facilitate the expression and the perception of a “livable and human” music.
Next to his activities of composer, interpreter and conductor, Arturo Corrales teaches the guitar and is a professor of composition and analysis in the Conservatoire Populaire de Genève. He prepares a doctoral thesis on the theme Musical Figures.
