Lise-Lotte Norelius will bring her favorite synth jewelry, small electric noise devices, a computer for live processing and sampling and some guitar boxes. The tiltle of the work is “Mean Little Things II”
Lise-Lotte Norelius is one of Stockholms most active electronic musicians. Besides composing new music for other musicians and electronics, she performs both as solo artist and in collaboration with other musicians and artists from different fields. She is one of the founders of the DIY ensemble Syntjuntan who has got a lot of attention for their workshops and concerts with textile instruments. LLN has a long history as percussionist with great experience from different fields like traditional african music, experimental rock, free improvised music and from combining percussion and sampled sounds in the group Anitas Livs. The wish to go further into electroacoustic music, grew during a project about acoustics 1996, where she composed her first 8-channel piece. She studied electroacoustic composition at Royal College in Stockholm 1998-2002 and developed her work with live-electronics and realtime processing of percussion as well as other sound sources. Since then, she has composed music for speakers (EAM), musicians and live-electronics, installations, theater, poetry and dance performances. Her penchant for rhythmic structures, layers and long lines characterize her music. which can be both beautiful, harsh and brutal. The last years she has been interested in controlling small motors, building small, simple noisy devices, synth jewelry (Lo-Fi DIY) to use in combination with her Max/MSP software. Several CDs with LLN involved, has been released recently. Two of them, the album “Syntjuntan” (by Syntjuntan) won the Swedish prize “Manifest” for best experimental CD 2012 and LLNs second solo release “Existentiell Tremor” won the Swedish prize “Nutida Sound” for best art music CD 2012.
For the past 20 years, Daniel Araya has been playing live acid techno at festivals and clubs in Sweden and abroad. Araya’s sound is born out of classic Chicago house and Detroit techno with a twist of modular synths and percussive loops. Playing his live sets on an array of small synthesizers and homebuilt or modified equipment, he relies on the interaction between their internal sequencers and their various quirks creating improvised dance music that that takes on a slightly different form every gig.
