2015 will be the first Catalunya Música Ars Acustica Art’s Birthday Party.
For this special occasion we have organized an event based on Robert Filliou’s idea of Arts Birthday Celebration at the Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona, an arts centre devoted to promote and exhibit Antoni Tàpies work.
Currently the Foundation has an exhibition on sound art, “Interval Sound Actions”
The exhibition is an essay about the listening context, and our Arts Birthday Celebration will integrate the aim of the exhibition with the spirit of the radio broadcasting Fluxus party idea.
Public joining us at the Tàpies Foundation will also have the opportunity to participate in Fluxus Actions, based on some of the Fluxus materials hold in the Foundation archives.
As a present for the Ars Acustica Group, we have invited the Tunnel Ensemble to play a 20 minutes piece. The ensemble explores new relations between sound and space.
The Tunnel Ensemble is a duet formed in 2013 at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki (FI). The Classical saxophonist Marc Vilanova from Spain and the electronic musician Peter Breitenbach from Germany are trying to open up new sound spaces and new relations between the saxophone and electronics. They are exploring in there compositions the diversity of saxophone sounds also from the perspective and with the possibilities of electronic music.
The Tunnel Ensemble sees itself as a band. The compositions are created in the tension between improvisation and research. Particularly important to them is the spontaneous musical interaction between each other. To make this possible Peter Breitenbach developed a controller with different sliders and infrared sensors.
