Synesthetic IVO
Live from ORF Funkhaus in Vienna.

SYNESTETIC IVO is the solo project of the Austrian musician and composer Vincent Pongracz. He acts as the mastermind of this year’s Art’s Birthday Party hosted by Kunstradio. Pongracz has invited fellow musicians Beate Wiesinger and Peter Rom, as well as his band SYNESTETIC 4 to join him on stage for various performances throughout the evening, and he will perform his new single “Fetohelo” of the upcoming Album “1V0”. His music is coined by dada and rap, it hovers lightheartedly between Jazz, Hip Hop and contemporary music. The performances will be accompanied by live visuals by Anna Bertsch & Florian Gruber, produced especially for Art and its 1,000.058 anniversary.

Vincent Pongracz:
Clarinetist and composer Vincent Pongracz studied at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Denmark. In 2013 he received the BMUKK Start Scholarship and the following year he was the winner of the SKE Publicity Prize. Since September 2018 he lives in Vienna to work as a freelance musician and composer. Numerous projects as a musician and composer (Synesthetic 4, Christoph Cech Jazz Orchestra Project, Woody Black 4, leading the Porgy & Bess Stageband etc.) as well as musical collaborations with greats of the scene, mainly from the jazz segment and the experimental field, frame his work. In 2019 Pongrácz was commissioned to write the music for the contemporary jazz opera Leelah which is being performed by the Jazzorchester Vorarlberg, Renee Benson and himself. The program has so far been hosted by festivals and concert venues including the Popfest Wien, Porgy & Bess, Jazz & The City and the Jazzwerkstatt Bern. In 2020 he received a Staatsstipendium for composition from the Austrian Ministry of Art and Culture and was selected by the European Forum Alpbach to write a piece for their 75 year anniversary which will be performed in 2021 by Klangforum Wien.
