The Art’s Birthday 2013 party in Bukarest will take place in one of the studios of the Romanian Broadcasting Corporation. During the night, a small and silent group will assist Dslx, maybe the only active romanian noise-artist, during his unique performance. This is a premiere for the Romanian Radio (as an institution), for the building itself (a huge communist one) and also for the 15th Studio – the host of this mysterious recital.

“Probably the most productive noise activist in Romania, Dslx stands for harsh or experimental ambient soundscapes. His arsenal of custom built instruments involve circuit bending and modified toys, and piezo buzzer contact microphones capturing minute vibrations from living cockroaches, the interior of a café, or the surface of a huge saw. ” (Stefan Tiron) “Dslx is immersed in pure noise” (Easterndaze). During the years he performed in festivals in Romania, Hungary or Poland and worked on a several albums without releasing them. An introvertit artist, very careful with the public he’s playing to, with a clear esthetic about sound, Dslx is not making a career, but slowly creating his own cave in the Romanian cultural habitat.
